Your role :
As a member of the engineering project team, you will be expected to participate in and lead automation and mechanical design projects for test equipment at the Magog validation center. You will be responsible for successfully managing major and minor equipment design projects for test simulators, involving both automation system design and mechanical design.
We need you for :
Conduct preliminary studies to identify the most effective solutions;
Oversee design or integration in accordance with industry best practices (internal and external standards, quality system, documentation, and archiving) in collaboration with all relevant departments;
Oversee manufacturing, installation, and commissioning;
Design equipment for testing;
Propose various concepts to clients;
Lead initial and ongoing design review sessions;
Select, model, and assemble the various components of our equipment and tooling;
Create detailed drawings, including manufacturing tolerances, as well as complete assembly drawings;
Prepare a comprehensive schedule for the projects assigned to you and monitor the allocated budget;
Oversee manufacturing and ensure our suppliers comply with our requirements;
Write technical manuals for our equipment and tools;
Oversee the startup and troubleshooting of assemblies during initial testing.
What do you need to possess for being successful?
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (mechatronics track), electrical engineering, robotics engineering, or automation engineering; or a DEC in mechatronics or electrical engineering.
3 to 5 years of relevant experience (as a technician or engineer). Recent graduates in robotics engineering or automation engineering will also be considered;
Bilingualism in French and English;
Experience in electrical and automation design;
Experience in mechanical design, manufacturing processes, and drafting;
Proficiency in manufacturing processes, material selection, product/process matching based on industrial performance, and cost optimization;
Project management skills;
Knowledge of production tools and methods;
Initiative, creativity, innovation, and skills in continuous process improvement;
Attention to detail and strong adaptability;
Teamwork, collaboration, and customer focus.
Software:
Knowledge of or experience with Studio 5000 (major asset);
SolidWorks (asset) or other CAD software (significant asset).
