Package Lead – Paste Backfill

Your new role

Reporting to the Area Manager - Tailings and Water Management, the Package Lead – Paste backfill will be responsible for managing the delivery of the project’s paste backfill solution, including strategy, planning, engineering, and execution during the construction phase of the Windfall mining project (currently in pre-construction).  

Your key responsibilities:

• Oversee engineering deliverables across all project phases (feasibility to execution);
• Lead project services functions, including cost control, scheduling, estimating, and risk management;
• Act as Subject Matter Expert on paste backfill technologies within the plant process;
• Provide accurate reports and insightful analysis to support informed decision-making;
• Monitor cost, progress, and schedule reports; implement corrective actions as needed;
• Manage the development of capex and financial models for feasibility study updates;
• Foster collaboration and ensure effective communication of project risks to stakeholders.

What you'll need to succeed

• 10+ years of paste backfill plant and reticulation design, in one or more related engineering disciplines;
• Demonstrated experience in the implementation, installation, and/or commissioning of paste backfill systems;
• Demonstrated experience in project delivery, ideally in large-scale mining projects;
• Proficient in data analysis and reporting for performance assessment for work effort reporting;
• Leadership qualities to collaborate with multiple stakeholders;
• Advanced facilitation skills in both large and small groups;
• Problem-solving skills and attention to detail;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
