Design Engineer, Bridges and Engineering Structures

Your main task will be to prepare plans and specifications for the construction, repair and maintenance of bridges and other road and rail structures. The position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of challenging projects to design new bridges and rehabilitate existing structures.

Your main responsibilities

  • Participate in the design, rehabilitation and rehabilitation of bridges and structures (road and rail structures);

  • Perform modeling (2D and 3D or finite elements), analysis and design calculations for bridges and other structures with dedicated software (CSI Bridges, Advanced Design America, etc.);

  • Conduct feasibility and / or pre-project studies;

  • Participate in structural capacity assessment studies;

  • Participate in the preparation of tender documents (plans, specifications, slips);

  • Write expert reports;

  • Participate in project management.

Your experience and skills

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Mastering an Asset);

  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in the design of bridges and other structures;

  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec;

  • Excellent theoretical knowledge of structural engineering principles;

  • Experience in designing a multitude of structural types, concrete and steel;

  • Mastery of structural analysis software (CSI Bridge, Advanced Design America, SAFI, SAP2000);

  • Good knowledge and understanding of CAN / CSA-S6;

  • Training of the Ministry of Transport: Design, Maintenance and Evaluation of Structures;

  • Project management skills (asset)

  • Excellent writing and communication skills in French;

  • Ability to work in a team;

  • Bilingualism (French-English) spoken and written (asset).
