Head of Department - Energy Networks and Automation

Description: We are looking for an electrical engineer who will act as the head of the Energy and Automation Networks department and who will contribute to achieving our strategic objectives. The incumbent will be responsible for the management of the human, financial and material resources of the department and will oversee the conduct of activities to achieve operational efficiency objectives. More specifically, the incumbent will be required to: • Supervise carrying out the activities of the service and ensuring an adequate planning of resources from a productivity perspective • Leading and coordinating consulting services for electrical network studies (short circuit, power flow, coordination of protection, danger of arc flash, harmonics, transients, modeling, coordination of isolation) and any other type of studies related to industrial and public networks • Maintain a high level of technical quality of the work done by the team. monitoring and evaluation of employees under his supervision • Take charge of development projects to structure its service and the electrical discipline • Determine training needs and ensure the implementation and monitoring of development plans • Maintain and develop the level of technical competence of its service • Ensure recruitment and hiring qualified personnel • Communicating BBA's vision and strategic directions to its team • Supporting the achievement of corporate objectives and participating in the development of the service's operational plan based on BBA's strategic directions • Participate in the development and implementation of standard working methods • Ensure the planning, management and control of teams according to the degree of technical and commercial risk • Coordinate and share the management of service activities with the chiefs teams and other department heads of the discipline • Ensure sound management of human resources to maximize potential • Participate in the promotion and business development of its service both internally and externally • Prepare service offerings, studies, reports, plans, concepts, estimates Costs and quotes • Manage and organize work meetings • Ensure good coordination between teams and between departments • Establish and maintain effective communications with the various stakeholders involved in the activities of the service and act as Contact person to these stakeholders.Working schedule: 37.5Competencies: • Ability to lead and motivate • Good technical and functional skills • Respect for ethics and organizational values ​​• Ability to manage conflicts • Autonomy and sense of the word organization • Good political sense • Ability to recruit and surround yourself • Managerial courage • Demonstrated ability to work in an organization matrix anization Requirements: • University diploma in electrical engineering • Member of the Quebec Order of Engineers • Minimum of 12 years of experience (including five years in technical personnel management) • Recognized technical expertise in computer networks energy and automation • Bilingualism (French and English), spoken and written • Intermediate computer skills, particularly with the Microsoft Office suite • Strength: experience within engineering consulting firms • Asset: knowledge of ETAP software , EMTP-RV, PSSE and MATLAB.BBA are committed to diversity and employment equity.Thank you for your interest in BBA, only the selected applications will be contacted.
