The challenges that await you:
Reporting to the Director of the Major Projects Office, the incumbent manages an internal team and matrix responsible for monitoring and compliance with the Governance Framework for large-scale projects and programs. As such, he or she controls, audits and monitors the city's administrative units in terms of project and program management. He or she guides and directs the development and deployment of project and program management processes and tools with stakeholders, provides training and support to them, and performs accountability reporting and continuous improvement management of projects and programs across the organization. In this capacity, he or she collaborates with the management in the strategic planning of the Major Projects Office and establishes the orientations, objectives and programs. The division head sets the annual objectives of his or her team and implements measures to optimize the performance of the various activities for which he or she is responsible.
The division head manages the Major Projects Office staff responsible for developing and applying best practices in project and program management. He or she supports the management for the establishment of a watch with the administrative units of the City and the application of best practices in the field.
As a member of the management team of the Major Projects Office, the head of the division collaborates in its proper functioning and contributes to the achievement of its objectives. He or she assesses and recommends the human, material and financial resources required for the smooth running of the activities for which he or she is responsible and manages the budgets made available to him or her. He or she submits detailed reports and may be called upon to make presentations regarding the activities for which he or she is responsible.
Results oriented, the incumbent mentors, guides and supervises the members of the the team in carrying out their respective mandates, determines the general order of priorities, defines the objectives and informs of its expectations. He or she evaluates performance, recognizes performance and promotes staff development by recommending their training.
- Hold a bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture or any other relevant field;
- Be a member of the Order of Engineers or Architects;
- Hold a master's degree in business administration, MBA, an asset;
- Possess the Project Management Professional certification, PMP, an asset;
- Have 10 years of relevant experience in the position, in a position in management within a large-scale company, preferably in the public or parapublic sector;
- Proven experience in process development / deployment and continuous improvement (Agile, ITIL, Kaizen, etc.);
- In addition to demonstrating unwavering integrity, demonstrate the ability to make relevant decisions thatdemonstrate good judgment and possess the following skills: results orientation, knowing how to manage change, knowing how to mobilize, customer orientation and a sense of partnership.
