Manager - Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS)

Kontron Canada is looking for a Manager – Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) for her Operations team.

  • You will manage different accounts with the designated manufacturing suppliers (certain ones in Asia);
  • You will coordinate the efforts of operations, planning, purchasing, manufacturing engineering, customer service and sales management as well as product returns between the suppliers and Kontron in order to optimize business relations;
  • You will administer the contracts already in place and participate in preparing new contracts;
  • You will manage the product transfer between Kontron and the designated supplier while supervising bids, transfer of the manufacturing documents and other required tasks;
  • You will coordinate, conduct and document the weekly follow-up meetings with the suppliers of manufacturing services (sometimes including conference calls in the evening);
  • You will increase the synergies between the manufacturing service suppliers of Kontron by identifying, proposing and conducting various actions aiming at continuous improvement;
  • You will ensure availability and monitor key performance indicators (KPI) of EMS suppliers vs specific targets;
  • With the collaboration of purchasing and business cost management departments, you will manage cost reduction projects at the EMS suppliers;
  • You will travel occasionally (sometimes in Asia) required by the work with the supplier(s).


  • Education: University Bachelor’s degree;
  • Specialization: Engineering or Operations Management;
  • Experience: Ideally a minimum of 5 years, preferably in manufacturing of electronic products;
  • Knowledge: Project management, account management, product transfers, experienced user of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio;
  • Assets: Experience with outsourcing with Manufacturing Engineering Services, familiar with SAP, knowledge of printed circuit assemblies, optimization and improvement of operating processes;
  • Profile: Communication skills, ability to manage multiple projects, initiative, pro-activity and autonomy, organization skills and excellent work capacity;
  • Languages: Fluent in English and French (oral and written), Mandarin an asset.
