Mechanical engineer - mines and metals

As an engineer, your role will be to contribute to service offerings, engineering, technological choices and project implementation. By joining our team, you will be called upon to Perform the following tasks: • Lead and participate in project design studies. • Lead the design of plans, specifications and details from guidelines for heavy machinery, conveyors, pumping systems, mills and metallurgical processes and participate in them • Perform calculations. • Supervise and perform design calculations, and ensure that plans conform to guidelines and requirements of codes and other regulations. • Establish and maintain relationships with clients to define their needs. • Perform the presentation of technical information, concepts or study results. • Ensure the verification and production of bidding documents, specifications and other technical documents. • Assign tasks to junior engineers, technicians and draughtsmen to projects, review the work done and evaluate the technical scope. • Ensure work conforms to budgets, schedules, estimates and established procedures • Assist more experienced staff in the technical aspects of complex tasks • Conduct technical briefings. • Exercise, on occasion, a coordination of the work of draftsmen or other non-professionals at the request of a senior engineer. • Exercise, on occasion, supervision of contractors in the field.

• University degree in mechanical engineering • Member of the OIQ • Minimum of 5 years experience relevant to the position • Experience in mechanical engineering in the industrial sector, energy or mining. • Excellent knowledge of the MS Office suite and other applications, databases and interfaces. • Knowledge of AutoCAD, SolidWorks and SmartPlant applications • Availability for occasional trips between Mont-Saint-Hilaire and Montreal offices • Availability for short-term (mandatory) and long-term assignments (asset) for our clients in Quebec and elsewhere in Canada • Major asset: oral and written bilingualism (French and English) • Asset: map of ASP Construction.
