Municipal Building Inspector
Under the responsibility of the general management of Saint-Maxime-du-Mont-Louis, the municipal inspector acting as municipal building and environmental officer is primarily responsible for the application, development and compliance with the provisions of municipal by-laws on urban planning and the environment. Specifically, the incumbent must:
- Inform citizens about the regulations in force, receive applications, analyze projects, issue permits and certificates of authorization and follow up.
- Ensure the application and adaptation of municipal by-laws, urban planning and those relating to the environment.
- Set up and adapt inspection plans according to municipal needs.
- Notify orally or in writing the owners or contractors violating the municipal by-laws, indicate if necessary the corrective measures to be taken.
- Assume the coordination of the Planning Advisory Committee (PAC), analyze and present any request for minor variance or amendment to the by-laws if necessary.
- Receive complaints if necessary and follow up with the General Management.
- Be part of a new management committee with the general and deputy management as well as the director of public works. The committee will be responsible, among other things, for occupational health and safety.
- Assume any other function or related responsibility agreed with the municipality according to the profile of the candidate.
Requirements
-Hold a college or university diploma in a field relevant or related to the municipal world (technician in development and urban planning, architecture or civil engineering)
-With or without experience
-Have the certification of the COMBEQ or commit to obtain it
-Demonstrate initiative and autonomy
-Have a good knowledge of French
-Mastery of the main computer tools and software
-Be diplomatic
-Skilled at popularizing information
-Hold a valid driver's license
Salary conditions
-Permanent full-time position.
-Competitive salary and benefits depending on the current scale and the candidate's profile ($45,000 to $58,000, group insurance and employer RRSP contribution).
