AREA OF EXPERTISE
The Department of Computer and Software Engineering of Polytechnique Montréal is experiencing significant growth and is seeking exceptional applicants to fill this position at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated research activities mainly in Software Engineering. Focus that will be considered favourable are: software development lifecycle and devops of intelligent systems, including, but not limited to, machine learning applications, artificial intelligence, and cyber-physical systems.
Spring or Summer 2021
Applicants must hold a PhD in software engineering, computer engineering, computer science or a related field. They should hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering. Industry experience will be considered an asset.
Applicants must have a solid record of research accomplishments that demonstrates their potential to develop and lead an independent research program, allowing them to obtain research funding in order to support graduate students.
Applicants must demonstrate excellent aptitudes for teaching, preferably attested to through teaching evaluations. They will teach undergraduate courses and will be expected to contribute to the development of the Department’s selection of graduate courses.

Successful applicants will need to be considered professional engineers with the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ), or will have to take the necessary measures to qualify and register prior to applying for tenure. Polytechnique’s teaching language is French, therefore successful candidates will have to be fluent in French, both spoken and written, before applying for tenure. Polytechnique Montréal will provide the necessary assistance and support for successful candidates to become registered members of the OIQ and to learn French.
