The challenges that await you

Reporting to the immediate supervisor, the Project Manager for Major Projects is responsible for the implementation of major projects led by the Service. More specifically, the incumbent will be tasked with planning, organizing, directing, and controlling all phases of project management for which they are responsible, in accordance with the governance framework for major projects and programs of the City of Laval. They will be responsible for ensuring collaboration among all stakeholders, closely monitoring timelines, and acting as the lead to maximize efficiency in terms of costs, deadlines, scope, and quality of work.

The ideal profile for us
  • Hold a bachelor's degree in engineering or architecture;
  • Be a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec or the Ordre des architectes du Québec;
  • Have a minimum of 10 years of experience in the construction field, including 5 years in managing major projects corresponding to the following specifications:
    • Having significantly participated in a project of $50M or more in present value scale;
    • Having played the role of project manager for several phases of a major project;
    • Having closely collaborated on the startup of a project (needs assessment, preliminary schedule, awarding and managing professional service contracts, etc.);
  • Experience in civil engineering is an asset;
  • Have a good knowledge of or have significantly participated in a project carried out in an alternative mode, an asset;
  • Master the tools of the MS Office suite, including Microsoft Project.
