Reporting to the President, Hao Pharmaceuticals the Plant Manager leads and direct business strategies and activities to ensure a harmonious and effective work environment that enables the site to achieve profitability and business objectives in a timely manner. The role is the lead member of the Plant Leadership Team providing leadership, mentoring, and guidance to achieve overall site objectives and builds a culture focused on delighting customers and achieving financial goals. The Plant leader has end to end accountability for implementing and enhancing process improvements for production and customer supply at the site making sure that high quality products get delivered on schedule and within budget.
Duties and Responsibilities
Customer Management:
· Interface with colleagues from the company’s Commercial / Business Development group to support and enable strong customer partnerships and to attract new business.
· Drive Business by acting as the site Representative for Customer and Regulatory visits.
· Promote and sell services to current and prospective customers.
· Proactively manage internal and external relationships to deliver on goals.
Culture:
· Establish and communicate a vision for a world class manufacturing operation. Implement appropriate, state-of-the-art operational policies and practices to ensure customer satisfaction and maximize ROI.
· Lead change, focus resources and create a robust Quality and Compliance culture.
· Inspire and lead the team, building a strong rewarding environment within which people are motivated to achieve higher results and delight the customer.
· Develop and implement effective processes and systems to ensure company products meet operational, regulatory and business plan schedules. Drive a culture of risk-based continuous improvement across the business to drive development and operational excellence.
· Continuously improve site and business performance across the Key Performance Indicators, objectives and budget and communicate progress to senior leadership.
· Ensure a culture of accountability, one where challenges are seen as opportunities and are dealt with in a direct, collaborative, and timely fashion.
Financials:
· Lead and drive strong business and financial competency. This role has full accountability for manufacturing materials, COGs and the P&L. The chosen candidate will develop performance metrics and reporting processes to ensure the organization is clearly aligned to the objectives and results for the business.
· Direct the analysis of expenditure base to identify opportunities for cost reduction and productivity improvements.
· Ensure the implementation and ongoing operation of a functional production and supply operation. This includes developing /maintaining clear definition of responsibilities and accountabilities across the site.
Compliance:
· Ensure all manufacturing activities comply with global compliance regulations, relevant acts, legal demands and the company’s Code of Conduct. Ensure product and facility compliance with all relevant regulatory bodies in all target markets with a focus on EMA, TGA and FDA compliance.
· Support Quality function: Ensure management actively participate in the pharmaceutical quality system and the system is properly resourced and that roles, responsibilities and authorities are defined, communicated and implemented throughout your organization.
· Ensure the business provides efficient, effective and compliant execution of quality responsibilities to assure that only materials and products that are safe, fit for purpose and compliant with regulatory and customer expectations/specifications. are released into the facility, transferred to other sites or into the market.
· Ensure optimal inspection readiness at all times, including appropriate preparation to enable a positive execution of any and all regulatory inspections and other third-party audits and the initiation of analysis of inspection results as well as corrective and preventative actions. The Plant Manager will ensure that the responses to authorities are given in a timely manner and the commitments are consistent with other company operations.
Structure & Organization:
· Oversee the evolution of the organizational structure considering the evolving business strategy. Engineer the necessary changes to ensure that the structure contributes to the business strategy. Ensure the recruitment, development, and retention of the best and highest potential individuals in all the strategic positions of the organization.
· Plan the optimal utilization of headcount (both permanent and temporary), equipment and material through effective production control techniques to achieve budget, product quality, compliance and timely supply objectives.
· Make a positive impact through effective customer focused leadership. Ensure the organization structure and culture are aligned to the company’s customer centric values.
Skills and Competencies
· Minimum of ten years broad managerial experience in operationally related activities.
· Solid financial expertise and know-how.
· Management of high-performance teams.
· Operations experience in a state-of-the-art manufacturing environment; experience with solid dosage and liquid manufacturing, granulation and direct compression, exposure to a unionized environment, as well as knowledge of continuous improvement approaches such as Lean Manufacturing is desirable.
· Experience in optimizing manufacturing operations and in establishing manufacturing as a competitive advantage.
· Hands-on Operational Excellence experience having a background in supply chain, project management or planning is ideal. A passion for continuous improvement is essential. The chosen candidate will have a demonstrated track record of prioritizing change initiatives based on their potential impact and sustainability.
· Top-notch leadership and analytical skills.
· Great verbal and written communication skills both in French and Englidh
· Experience, ability and focus on achieving high-efficiency and low-cost objectives.
· Excellent at managing complexity and a broad scope of activities.
· Ability to manage upwards multiple constituencies and political environments.
· Managerial courage to stand up on essential matters.
Education, Experience, and Other Qualifications
· A bachelor degree in a relevant discipline such as Chemical Engineering, Engineering or Pharmacy, with ideally an MBA or another advanced degree.
