Foraspec Inc., a subsidiary of Groupe Conseil UDA Inc., has practical expertise acquired over the past 9 years. The team specializes in  drilling for geotechnical studies, environmental studies, environmental rehabilitation and mining prospecting (quarries and gravel pits).

The measurements, information and samples collected during drilling work inform the various stakeholders of a project (engineers, architects, contractors, operators) on the nature and properties of soils, rock and groundwater.

Foraspec is looking for a drillto join its teams. The head office is located in Quebec City and our drilling operations are carried out in urban areas (50% of the time) and in the regions (across Quebec) requiring travel and stays outside. We are looking for someone with good physical resistance related to outdoor work in all types of temperatures and weather. Work weeks are often longer than 40 hours.

PERMANENT - FULL TIME,PROFILE: $26.00 TO $35.00 PER HOUR ACCORDING TO EXPERIENCE

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare drilling work and equipment;
• Conduct geotechnical and environmental drilling;
• Support other team members during drilling operations;
• Collect soil samples;
• Maintain and repair the drill and all drilling equipment;
• Clean equipment;
• Safely transport and handle the drilling machine;
• Install observation wells in boreholes;
• Supply equipment when drilling observation wells;
• Produce daily reports and timesheets;
• Keep an electronic log book for travel;
• Promote and implement the occupational health and safety prevention program.

Requirements and training

• More than 3 years of relevant experience in drilling;
• DEP in diamond drilling or drilling and blasting (asset);
• Experience in mechanics and hydraulics (asset);
• Ability to weld (asset);
• Hold a valid driver's license;
• ASP Construction card (asset);
• Be punctual, serious and open to learning;
• Be in good physical condition and enjoy working outdoors;
• Good teamwork skills.
