Mechanical engineer

As a member of a talented team of mechanical engineers and designers, you will play a crucial role in completing varied technical tasks and stimulating. Your mission will consist of taking charge of lifting platform projects throughout their production cycle, including technical design, internal coordination, support for designers, monitoring of manufacturing and installation.</strong

You will be responsible for the design of steel structures and the sizing of machine elements for lifting platforms. You will also provide support for calculation and design methods. You will have the opportunity to work on projects of larger scale and increasing complexity. As a mechanical engineer, you will be an essential technical reference for our sales, estimating, manufacturing and procurement teams.

Main functions

  • Carry out project-related calculations, such as steel structure, drive elements, guidance systems, using tools such as RISA, MathCad and Excel.
  • Monitor the progress of projects and take the necessary measures to meet deadlines and deliverables.
  • Provide support to the team of draftsmen-designers in the development of manufacturing drawings.
  • Approve layout and production drawings for supported projects
  • Select and integrate the Spiralift model best suited to each project and the other components best suited to each project
  • Participate in design reviews and brainstorming sessions.
  • Perform experimental tests to validate technical solutions and mechanical designs.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong interest in the strength of materials, machine elements, statics and dynamics of machines, as well as in the realization of international projects.
  • Organizational skills and analytical skills.
  • Aptitude for teamwork, rigor and practicality.
  • Imagination and creativity.
  • Knowledge of RISA, SolidWorks and MathCad software are assets.

Training and experiences

  • Successful experience in functions involving strong decision-making autonomy and accountability for results
  • Intermediate experience required (at least 4 years) as a mechanical, civil or construction engineer, in a design and manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in essential French and English is an asset.
