Production Planning Specialist

AN OVERVIEW OF THE CHALLENGES AHEAD:

 

The Production Planning Specialist is responsible for managing and coordinating planning activities for electronic products. The main responsibilities include:

 

  • Coordinating the production plan to define the overall level of manufacturing and other activities to meet the expected sales objectives;
  • Meticulously maintaining and optimizing planning parameters, including lead times, safety stocks, minimum quantities, and scrap rates;
  • Validating the accuracy of the manufacturing control system parameters to meet the performance levels specified in the operations management plan;
  • Rigorously following the proper execution of transactions to ensure the correct scheduling of manufacturing priorities;
  • Ensuring that feedback from the production floor on changes or delays is always considered in the system;
  • Working with warehousing to understand the capacity and storage constraints of finished product inventories. Collaborating with manufacturing and engineering to understand capacity limitations and planning options;
  • Ensuring the availability of components and achieving stock-related performance measures. Establishing the strategy and desired stock levels for finished products and WIP;
  • Developing, executing and maintaining the tools and techniques necessary to assess the impact of schedule changes;
  • Participating in and leading meetings such as Pre-SOP (sales and operations).
  • Planning demand based on the product range and providing accurate commitment dates to the customer service team for a wide range of products;
  • And finally, improving business processes related to production planning, inventory management and forecasting.

 

YOU WILL IMPRESS US IF YOU HAVE:

  • Education: College diploma (DEC) or equivalent, a bachelor's degree in operations management is an asset;
  • Experience: Ideally 3 to 7 years of experience in scheduling with a proven track record of successfully implementing and operationalizing master schedules;
  • Knowledge: Windows, Word, Excel (advanced) and SAP;
  • Languages: French, functional English to respond to international clients and certain service providers.
