Carbon Specialist – GHG Management

Coop Carbone is looking for a motivated and inspiring person to complete its team of professionals specialized in supporting and implementing projects aimed at reducing GHG emissions.

Coop Carbone is a solidarity cooperative whose mission is to take action in the face of the climate emergency by supporting the implementation of collaborative projects. Active in the carbon market and in the construction, agriculture/agri-food and mobility sectors, Coop Carbone values relationships with its members and public and private partners to create collaborative projects, sources of collective wealth.

For several years, Coop Carbone has been offering GHG quantification services to companies seeking to know their carbon footprint or wishing to implement GHG reduction initiatives. Beyond the assessments, we support companies and public organizations in their action for decarbonization. Our services are increasingly in demand, and we are helping stakeholders manage their GHGs in a global manner. We are therefore looking for a professional to complete our team and contribute to the development of these services.

Main functions

Coop Carbone is looking for a professional with scientific training to support the team that assists Quebec organizations in implementing decarbonization strategies, in particular by quantifying GHG emissions associated with public and private organizations or specific projects.

This person will have the necessary experience to understand the needs of organizations, translate them into personalized service offers, and develop innovative projects with organizations and internal colleagues. She will also play a role in quality control of the GHG Management team’s mandates.

Your tasks will consist of:

  • Participate in the development of the technical, financial and contractual aspects of various projects for our clients;
  • Carry out monitoring and various analyses of information related to decarbonization, GHG quantification, climate change, and other related topics;
  • Participate in the quantification of GHG emissions from various types of organizations or projects internal and external to Coop Carbone;
  • Write reports, analyze and synthesize information, and document the work carried out;
  • Contribute to the production of popularized content to communicate the analysis results (summary sheets, web content, etc.);
  • Develop technical and popularized content for various types of clientele;
  • Collaborate with internal expertise (energy, buildings, mobility, etc.) to develop cross-functional projects and complementary service offerings.

The profile sought

  • University degree in a technical field related to the technology or energy sectors;
  • Completed ISO14064-1 and ISO14064-2 training;
  • Specialization in product life cycle analyses (LCA);
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience;
  • Strong adaptability, diversified technical knowledge and scientific versatility;
  • A keen sense of quality, excellent ability to summarize and analyze;
  • Ability to work in a team and with clients;
  • Good autonomy and orientation towards achieving objectives;
  • Excellent communication skills in French (written and verbal) and good English skills;
  • Availability to travel as part of the duties;
  • Strong interest in Coop Carbone’s mission and the cooperative model.

Relevant assets:

  • Advanced mastery of Excel and databases;
  • Member status of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec;
  • Knowledge of the carbon market in Quebec (regulated and voluntary).

Working conditions

  • 37.5 h/week;
  • 4 weeks of vacation and 13 statutory holidays;
