Kontron Canada is looking for a meticulous and analytical electronics Buyer.

Kontron's embedded computing systems interact with a wide variety of devices in rugged environments such as avionics and telecommunications.

AN OVERVIEW OF THE CHALLENGES AHEAD:

  • You will execute the purchasing strategy and contract negotiations with our systems components partners;
  • You will act as the purchasing representative in answering customer inquiries (RFI/RFP);
  • You will execute purchase requests generated by the ERP system as well as purchase requests to support engineering;
  • You will administer all angles of the suppliers research, of the competitive bid analysis, of the capacity to supply and of the quality of high value components;
  • You will be well informed at all times of the fair market value and of the availability of the raw material;
  • You will plan, organize and monitor the production plan, according to the master plan (procurement, production, forecasts and customer orders);
  • You will use the market intelligence in order to foresee short or long term shortages and develop long term strategies to compensate for the raw material shortage;
  • You will participate in continuous improvement projects;
  • You will develop and implement purchasing strategies in order to meet the objectives of the purchasing Department in cost reduction and continuity of procurement;
  • Finally, you will travel on occasion.

 

YOU WILL IMPRESS US IF YOU HAVE:

  • Education: 1st cycle University Degree in administration, operations management, or Cegep degree or the equivalent supported by certificates from NAPM (North American Purchasing Management), ACGPS (Association Canadienne de Gestion de la Production et des Stocks) or CAQ (Corporation des Approvisionneurs du Québec);
  • Experience: Preferably 1-3 years in the electronic field;
  • Knowledge: Excel advanced level, MRP/EPR;
  • Assets: Knowledge of SAP, printed circuits boards (PCBs), servers, manufacturing planning;
  • Profile: Autonomous, meticulous, flexible, good analysis capacity and problem solving skills;
  • Languages: French and English (spoken and written). Functional English is required, given the various communications with global subcontractors, the parent company and sister entities of the Kontron Group.
